to present this engaging event for professional women

Join us on Wednesday, October 26^th 2016.  

This one-day conference builds on the Accelerate! "Women in Media" kick-off event in April 2016 in Brussels. This time, we want to hear the voices of women journalists and of representatives of media with robust diversity policies. Because balanced news reporting  is key for gender equality and women's empowerment!

PROGRAMME:

- 2 Panel discussions:
  PANEL 1: Newsroom reality - How are women seen?  How do women get to be seen?

 * How are women being portrayed in the media? 

 * How women are being interviewed? 

 * Will more women experts and women editorialists in the media change the game? 

 * And how can we overcome two major impediments to gender equality in and through the news: paucity of women at the helm and censorship of female sources.                                             

PANEL 2: Newsroom transformation - How News management influences progress towards gender equality, for the good and the bad!

 * How are topics being selected for news reporting?

 * How gender-sensitive is the news? 

 * How can we achieve balanced leadership in newsrooms and media boardrooms. 

 * What is the value of on-screen & off-screen diversity policies? 

 * And can different news management strategies bring about real newsroom change?
