Our guest speaker: Roz Morris - Managing Director, TV News London

Roz Morris, Managing Director of TV News London Ltd, one of the UK’s leading media training companies, will talk about the changing news media landscape across the world and give some tips for handling media approaches

Roz is one of the most influential advisers to business and the public sector on handling the media. She is Managing Director of TV News London Ltd – the leading media training company,  which she founded in 1992. Roz has extensive experience of broadcasting and training. She has trained nearly three thousand executives including many top CEO’s in both the private and public sectors to handle interviews with journalists and broadcasters successfully. 
 
Almost every day, spokespeople trained by TV News London appear on the news in Britain and abroad. Roz also runs TV News London’s Broadcast PR courses for PR professionals who need to know how to get their stories and their people on TV. She has wide experience in radio, television, newspapers and magazines, at national, international and regional levels, and was an official trainer for the Independent Television Association.
 
Roz has been a news reporter and presenter for BBC TV, ITN, Thames TV, Tyne Tees TV, (where she won a Royal Television Society Award for Best Regional Documentary), BBC Scotland, RTE (Irish TV and Radio), LBC/IRN and BBC Radio News, and staff reporter for The Observer and The Guardian, where she was the youngest reporter on both newspapers. She has a BA in Modern History from Somerville College, Oxford.
 
In 2006, Roz appeared in Channel Five’s series  ‘Asbo Teen to Beauty Queen’ and she media trained teenage girls from Manchester who were competing to take part in the American beauty pageant, Miss Teen International.  She has also been interviewed on Channel Four, BBC Radio Four, BBC World Service,  and local BBC radio stations.
 
Last October (2010) Roz received an international ‘World of Difference’ award from TIAW, The International Alliance of Women, for her work with women’s groups over the past 25 years, including two of the UK’s most prestigious women’s organisations, City Women’s Network and the Women of the Year Lunch.
