PWI Autumn Networking Cocktail

Join us at Le Châtelain Boutique Hotel to share a friendly moment over a glass of wine or our special PWI signature cocktail. Autumn is spreading its colours around us! Meet other PWI members and the extended PWI friends' crowd to mingle, network and enjoy yourself.

We have special surprises lined-up for you to make sure that the event is both an occasion to socialise and an opportunity to grow and build new skills that are crucial for professional women to succeed and participate in creating a more gender balanced leadership structure within their own professional networks and organisations.

During our Autumn Networking, we will welcome Geert Maesmans, Research and Development Director at Cargill Food to discuss the impact of diversity and inclusion on team effectiveness.

While we note a growing demand within workforce for greater diversity and inclusion, various unequalities in workplaces persist. Facts are clear, the income disparity between men and women in the EU, for example, has remained unchanged over the last five years (EU report 2018).

Diverse and inclusive teams perform better and innovate more, and they're usually also much more fun to work with. Why aren't we achieving gender parity faster, then?

As a true Research and Development professional, when asked a question, Geert can't stop but try to get to the bottom of it and come with an answer.

While the conversation with Geert will focus mainly on the issue of gender parity, we will discuss diversity and inclusion more broadly, too and are keen on hearing your examples and stories. Come join us to learn and share with other members of the PWI Brussels crowd!

About Geert Maesmans:

The oldest of 6 siblings (3 biological & 3 adopted), Geert became an engineer, and later the R&D leader at Cargill.

Geert is a strong believer in diversity and inclusion, a concept in line with his own values, and the power of which he experienced numerous times throughout his career.
