Volunteering and Professional Transition

We all know that career transition is not an easy path. It is a journey with ups and downs and stop-overs before reaching the final destination.

Volunteering for an organisation can be a great way to more easily go through this process. It can help expand your skills and experience and make your profile more attractive to future employers. It can provide inspiration to identify a new professional direction. It can help you better cope emotionally and it is an excellent way to establish new professional relationships as well as friendships.

Through an interactive discussion, we will be learning directly from those who have walked the talk. In a safe and friendly atmosphere, women from various origins and backgrounds will share with PWI members and guests their volunteering experience and discuss what was for them the value added of volunteering while in professional transition:

- Beverley Sinton and Angélique Hardy: neurodiversity, social integration, equality

- Ana Escarpenter: voluntourism

- Patricia Veloso: helping others

- Annalisa Monaco: volunteering for PWI

- Patricia Lanssiers: volunteering with children

- Sandra Cavallo: women and IT

- Claire Moreau: transforming a challenge into enriching opportunities in volunteering

- Benedicte De Bruycker: Toolbox

We are delighted to announce that Toolbox have kindly offered us their premises to hold our meeting, and we will also have an 9th speaker from Toolbox asbl-vsw.
ToolBox is a nonprofit organization aiming at supporting and improving the management of associations active in the Belgian social sector. At present more than 150 socially committed professionals assist and advise, without charge, such associations and provide them with their expertise.

New Catering arrangements - drinks will be provided, but it is not possible to provide food.

During the event, Alejandro Gil Carrasco (from Visuality) will be applying the 'graphic recording' technique by visually capturing the key thoughts and ideas of speakers and participants.
