Our Networking Event is called 'Stories of Empowerment and Encouragement' and begins with a story of a PWI-member, a journey of professional and personal growth. In listening to how others have overcome challenges, tackled hurdles and become more empowered in the process, we can learn that we are never alone and that so many others before us have paved the way.
We take inspiration from the stories of resilience and strength, to create a supportive space where we can start to build connections with one another. We will end the evening with a networking session that will allow us to ask questions and get to know each other on a deeper level.
We are dedicated to creating an authentic atmosphere of inclusivity and connection. We believe that by networking in an inspiring way, and by creating a supportive space, we can empower and encourage each other to reach our fullest potential.
We are proud to present PWI-member Rosanna Kurrer as our Guest!
Rosanna is the co-founder and managing director of CyberWayFinder, a European platform that empowers and trains the next generation of diverse cyber security professionals. With over seven years of experience in this role, she has built a strong network of partners, clients, and mentors across the industry and academia. She was awarded the Cybersecurity Personality of the Year in 2021 by the Belgian Cybersecurity Coalition for the impact of her work, as well as the ELLE Belgium Woman of the Year for Technology in 2023.
She is also a seasoned speaker at prominent security conferences, such as COSAC in Ireland and RSAC in San Francisco, where she shares her insights and expertise on security innovation, practical cyber diversity, addressing the skills gap and growth mindset. Rosanna is passionate about design thinking and corporate innovation, and she leads workshops and seminars for corporates and individuals on these topics, as well as working as a senior cybersecurity consultant for both large enterprises and SMEs. She holds multiple credentials in cybersecurity, such as CISSP, SABSA SCF, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, SSCP, and CCSK, as well as a master's degree in architectural engineering from Kyoto University.
Rosanna was born and raised in the Philippines, studied in Japan where she met her future husband and moved to Germany to start a family. They relocated to Belgium when her husband secured a position at the European Commission. Facing the challenge of restarting her career after a long hiatus dedicated to caring for her children, Rosanna had to demonstrate resilience and adaptability starting a career in the male-dominated tech industry. Transitioning into the field of cybersecurity required her to completely start from scratch. With unwavering determination, she reskilled herself through online courses, extensive reading, and the guidance of supportive mentors.
