Demystifying pensions in Belgium

More and more people and particularly women are working independently. By stepping out of the corporate world you no longer have access to the traditional employee pension. Pensions and retirement planning may seem a long way off for many people but these are critical areas to understand. State pension provision will likely reduce over time and will not be considered adequate to provide for our expected retirement lifestyle. This is particularly important for the entrepreneur and self employed Director who will need to accumulate the maximum pension possible within the Belgian fiscal limits.

This evening’s session will explain how pensions work in Belgium and particularly focus on the advantages, the process and limitations of managing your own pension if you run your own company.

We will explain the following aspects of pensions in Belgium.
  • What are the tax advantages?
  • Is there a limit to the amount of pension I can accumulate?
  • How much tax will I pay when I take my pension?
  • What if I move company and country?
  • How do I set up my own pension scheme?
  • What if I don’t have enough in my pension plan for my retirement?
  • Can I also have a state pension?
  • I have a small company with employees – what are the advantages of offering my employees a pension?
